Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large firm Honeycrisp Apples
  • 3 large firm Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 medium firm Fuji Apples
  • 2 cups Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1 cup Roasted Pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup Mini Marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup Crushed Pretzels
  • Edible Flowers (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples. Core and cut into 8-10 wedges per apple.
  2. Place apple slices in a bowl of cold water mixed with lemon juice. Soak for 5 minutes to prevent browning.
  3. Drain apples and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  4. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and 1/4 cup water. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  5. Stop stirring once boiling. Cook until mixture turns deep amber (8-10 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and carefully stir in butter.
  7. Slowly pour in heavy cream while whisking constantly. Stir in sea salt.
  8. Let caramel cool slightly until warm but not hot.
  9. Chop pecans and place toppings (chocolate chips, marshmallows, pretzels, pecans) into separate small bowls.
  10. Arrange apple slices on a large board in a circular or fanned pattern.
  11. Pour warm caramel into a central bowl or pitcher.
  12. Place caramel bowl in the center of the board and surround with topping bowls.
  13. Garnish with edible flowers if desired.
  14. Serve immediately while caramel is warm and apples are crisp.

Notes

Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith to prevent mushiness. Soak slices in lemon water to prevent browning. Caramel can be made ahead and reheated gently. If caramel thickens, add a splash of warm cream. Serve immediately for best texture.
