Caramel Apple Sangria - featured image

A warm, balanced fall punch combining apple cider, caramel sauce, and cinnamon whiskey. This easy-to-make drink is perfect for autumn gatherings and takes only five minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) unfiltered apple cider
  • 1 cup (240 ml) apple juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cinnamon whiskey (e.g., Fireball or WhistlePig)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 large apple, sliced thin (for garnish)
  • 34 cinnamon sticks (for garnish)
  • 2 star anise pods (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Warm the 2 cups of apple cider in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling.
  2. Add the 1/2 cup of caramel sauce to the warm cider and stir vigorously until completely dissolved and smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for a minute or two.
  4. Pour the warm cider and caramel mixture into a large glass pitcher.
  5. Add the 1 cup of apple juice and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the pitcher and stir well.
  6. Pour in the 1 cup of cinnamon whiskey and stir gently to combine.
  7. For a cold sangria, add ice cubes and refrigerate for 30 minutes. For a warm punch, skip the ice and serve immediately.
  8. Garnish with thin apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and star anise before serving.

Notes

Warm the cider slightly to ensure the caramel dissolves smoothly. If serving cold, use large ice cubes to prevent dilution. The flavors meld better if allowed to sit for 15 minutes before serving. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
